How do we cancel proceedings and withdraw divorce petitions if we have both become reconciled?

My husband filed for divorce . I counter-petitioned. There has been no Decree Nisi yet and all hearings have been adjourned as we are now reconciled. How do we cancel all proceedings and withdraw the petitions? Can we do it ourselves rather than incurring even more expense by instructing our solicitors to it?

If the Decree Nisi has not been pronounced you can make an application to the Court to have the Petition dismissed.  This needs to be done on a form entitled Notice of Application which you can obtain from the Court and complete yourself. The application attracts a fee of £40.
